Engel Energy
Engel energy is photovoltaic installer company willing to redefine energy market in Spain.
With one of the longest experience in PV installations they're affording a deep business transformation, thus evolving from pure residential installation to full energy services provider (panels, batteries, chargers, power, ...).
This challenge required a process definition "from scratch" as well as a new discipline (Business Process Management) adoption across the company.
The Need
Engel Energy required a full definition of processes to cover both classical photovoltaic installations and new operational business based on 25-years agreement to support energy production, storage and platform maintenance.
Engel Energy required a full definition of processes to cover both classical photovoltaic installations and new operational business based on 25-years agreement to support energy production, storage and platform maintenance.
The Solution
All operational areas in Engel Energy were involved in a significant transformation of the business model, requiring the definition of processes both within and across business areas. The solution included detailed documentation of processes and their inclusion in an integrated process repository using IBM BlueworksLive. The project also demanded high educational skills to help company employees transition from a "family business model" to an "industrial business" by adopting Business Process Management principles and discipline. This required close alignment and collaboration with the IT department to ensure processes could run on the newly implemented ERP, CRM, and Field Services tools.
Benefits
- Fully detailed documentation about AS-IS and TO-BE processes for a better business understanding.
- On-going definition of performance metrics for process monitoring.
- Full integrated process repository available across the company, using IBM BlueworksLive.
- New capabilities for business decision management based on process and rules management definition.
- Technical support to IT Area for appropriate corporate solutions implementation.

By combining design, knowledge and experience Holistex guarantees the quality of their products while applying corporate values in the development of our textiles,
Sharing our vision and philosophy with our customers and suppliers.
The Need
Holistex Group had the needed to harmonize processes across different companies in the group, mainly DOBERT and IBQ, while collaborting with other companies in the group, Apreslan and Meroltex.
This was a huge challenge when willing to unify the approach to market.
The Solution
We collaborated closely with Holistex management and the IT department to analyze current processes and establish future ones ('to be' processes), leveraging our collective experience to introduce a refreshed market approach. Such transformational efforts often demand robust technological support. We partnered with IT Management to explore options for advancing their existing ERP and CRM platforms.

Grupo BC is a leading mortgage management company with a 40% market share in Spain and 70% in LATAM.
Main contribution was the integration between SAP and Mortgage platform called COSMOS (2012). Ten years after, Grupo BC management called me to lead Digital Transformation across the group
The Need
Grupo BC had recently bought Cibergestion in LATAM (2012) thus acquiring a powerful platform for mortgage files management, COSMOS.
Grupo BC had recently bought Cibergestion in LATAM (2012) thus acquiring a powerful platform for mortgage files management, COSMOS.
Company chose SAP as the Accounting tool for mortgage transactions, and hence, operational and financial components need to be integrated
The Solution
It took 9 months to set up the integration between SAP and COSMOS. This was achieved by developing SAP pieces of code to gather information from COSMOS via data file-transfer. Since COSMOS is a custom developed tool there was no standard middleware for this integration to happen.
Benefits
- Direct transfer of financial information from COSMOS to SAP
- Automated payment request by collecting financial information from COSMOS and developing transactions in SAP.
Iberia
Iberia is Spain's biggest airline, and its mission is to always be the best option for both leisure and business travelling.
Iberia is Spain's biggest airline, and its mission is to always be the best option for both leisure and business travelling.
With 150 aircraft, Iberia offers a vast range of destinations, in total of 138 cities in Europe, Americas, Africa, Middle East, and Asia. Plus another 270 airports flight connections with its partner airlines.
The Need
Iberia needed to establish a multi-edition, review, approval, and distribution workflow to ensure that technicians' job cards were completed, available, and ready for use when airplane maintenance activities (A, B, C, D) were required. The activities to be performed were typically provided by aircraft manufacturers (e.g., Boeing), but sometimes needed to be supplemented with best practices and preventive activities from skilled engineers. This Document Management workflow was implemented to automatically generate Job Cards once their content had been reviewed.
The Solution
It was a two-year project during which I worked directly with Maintenance Engineers in Iberia, on-site in hangars where maintenance activities took place. We developed a custom solution for automated job card generation, derived from BOEING manuals in XML, thereby providing maintenance management with initial action plans. The solution also included a Document Management lifecycle for content authoring, review, modification, and approval before final job cards were issued to the maintenance plant. This solution was custom-built on the Documentum document management platform.
Benefits
- Full access to BOEING manual pieces of content.
- Flexible availability to job cards content repository, review and modification workflows.
- Automated job printing for plan-floor use.
- Deprecation and validity period control for recall and re-printing.
SCORE implementation In Lifesciences Companies
IBM SCORE (Solutions for COmpliance in REgulated Environments) was a former solution (GxPharma) built by PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting onto Documentum platform.
IBM SCORE (Solutions for COmpliance in REgulated Environments) was a former solution (GxPharma) built by PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting onto Documentum platform.
After PwCC acquisition by IBM Global Services (2002) IBM redefined architecture of GxPharma to let it become compatible with multiple Document Repository Systems. This was renamed as SCORE.
This solution was implemented in 5 client in Iberia:
Diagnostics Grifol (GxPharma integrated with SAP PL), Laboratorios Esteve, Esteve Química, Medichem-Combino Pharm and Bial (Portugal).
The Need
Lifesciences companies have a huge need to manage their documentation under very strict condition, all along the product's documents lifecycle; since target identification until commercialization is authorized.
Lifesciences companies have a huge need to manage their documentation under very strict condition, all along the product's documents lifecycle; since target identification until commercialization is authorized.
This becomes even more critical when documentation needs to be submitted to FDA /EMEA authorities for product commercialization via eCTD (Electronic Common Technical Document).
The Solution
The solution was initially developed by PricewaterhouseCooopers' labs onto Documentum platform.
IBM performed a "blue-wash" to make the solution compatible with IBM Content Manager and future Document repositories (e.g. filenet).
It was a multi-layered solution where Document Management System provided repository and basic Document Management Capabilities, while process management components added Compliant requirements fullfillment.
Solution was FDA CFR 11 part be full compliant.
Benefits
- Higher compliance with auditory confidence for clients.
- Efficiency increase via optimized process definition.
- Digital experience by full document lifecycle management.
- Complementary useful functionalities: digital signature, content integrity warranty, control print and print recall.
